Mundy Playing Fields received a prestigious Four-Star ‘Pride in Parks 2025’ award from Britain in Bloom South West.
Mundy Playing Fields was assessed as part of the regional ‘Pride in Parks’ scheme, which recognises excellence in community involvement, maintenance, environmental standards, planting and ongoing development. Parks across the South West were judged on the quality of their presentation, cleanliness and the level of local support they receive.
Mayor Helen Ball welcomed the achievement, which marks the third consecutive year that Mundy Playing Fields has received the respected award. She said: “We are delighted to receive this prestigious ‘Pride in Parks’ award once again and I would like to congratulate council staff for all their hard work and dedication in maintaining such a valued community space. Mundy Playing Fields are much loved by both residents and visitors and remain one of the town’s major attractions, of which we are all very proud. As we move into spring and summer, the playing fields really come into their own and are enjoyed by people of all ages.”
Mundy Playing Fields continues to provide an important recreational and green space for the community, hosting sports, play facilities and outdoor activities throughout the year.
