Job Vacancy for a Grounds Maintenance Operative
We are seeking a full-time Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our friendly and busy grounds team. You will help Thornbury Town Council to look after many of the facilities that it is responsible for including the Mundy Playing Fields, Chantry Playing Field, four other local play areas, a skate park, many other green spaces, and a well-maintained cemetery.
This role involves assisting with general grounds maintenance work such as grass mowing, watering, weeding and working in the Cemetery. Additionally, the grounds maintenance team are responsible for keeping our facilities free from litter, keeping changing rooms and toilets clean, inspecting our play parks to ensure they remain safe for users and assisting with keeping our buildings in good condition.
The work is varied and rewarding. You will be using a wide variety of equipment and machinery and will receive full training. You will be contributing to the local community of Thornbury, keeping it a great place to live and work.
Salary range: £26,403 - £28,598 depending on experience
Generous local government pension scheme, training and uniform
37 hours a week with some weekend working – 1.00pm finish on a Friday
31 days holiday per annum
Permanent contract (with 3-month probationary period)
Driving licence essential
