The playground saw an £85,000 overhaul in 2018 which included the installation of many new pieces of equipment such as swings, climbing pieces and trampolines. The splash pad was opened in 2014 and is used by visitors throughout the summer months.
Summer of 2023 saw the creation of the new sand pit, which has been very popular in the warmer weather.

Section 106 money was used to refurbish this playground in 2018. Set within a green field owned by South Gloucestershire Council, the playground features a multi-play climbing frame, trampolines and separate basketball hoop. Parking is possible on the road by the Green.

In summer of 2022, Thornbury Town Council invested £58,000 in a revamp of the play equipment and surfacing at Chantry Road play area. The new play area includes trampolines, toddler swings, rope seat swing, climbing unit with slide, hip hop, fully accessible roundabout, springers and shuttle run balance beams.

Eastland Avenue has recently been refurbished and totally transformed with lots of new equipment including a pod swing, toddler swing, climbing unit, standing see saw, balance beam and a very exiting activity trail. The two existing slides have been refurbished and look as good as new. Picnic tables have been provided to allow families to stay awhile and enjoy the new facilities.
The Chair of the Open Spaces Committee, Cllr Helen Harrison, said “We are so pleased with the new facilities at Eastland Avenue play area and really hope that children and families have hours of fun using the brilliant new equipment. The new activity trail is especially exciting as there is nothing else like it in any other play area.”

December 2019 was an exciting month as we revealed our newly refurbished playground with swings, trampolines and an accessible roundabout, which some of our Councillors are modelling here! £50,000 was spent on the development, after consultation with local residents and schools. There is limited parking on the surrounding roads.

With a leafy backdrop, the Skate Park is based in the field next to the Leisure Centre and is easily accessible from their car park. Whilst the park is owned by the Town Council, the surrounding field is owned by South Gloucestershire Council and contains the newly developed Krunch Hub, which delivers services for young people.
