We are often approached by members of the public who wish to commemorate a loved one. Thornbury Town Council was therefore very happy, to announce in 2023 the launch of its new memorial bench and memorial tree scheme. The scheme could also be used to mark a special occasion or anniversary.
You can sponsor a bench to be installed, or a tree planted, in one of three green spaces looked after by the Town Council. We are also offering a more affordable alternative which is to order a plaque from us for a “shared” memorial bench.
The Town Council is committed to planting more trees on its land and it hopes that this scheme will be an important part of achieving this.
