After several weeks of silence, we have received an update on our Town of Culture 2028 bid! We have been informed that the announcement of the shortlist has been delayed until the end of July, so our fingers will remain firmly crossed for a little while longer.
We received an unexpected email from the Town of Culture team inviting us to submit a "postcard" showcasing Thornbury, along with 100 words promoting our bid – all within a very tight deadline!
We rose to the challenge, quickly bringing together a small team for a photoshoot. A huge thank you to the members of our community who stepped up at very short notice to have their picture taken at The Pump.
We will share the completed postcard once we are given the green light from the Town of Culture committee - they are collating all postcard submissions at the moment.
In the meantime, this is a picture taken at the same time as the surprise one for our postcard!
