Thornbury Town Hall's Remembrance Display

Posted in News & Updates | Last Upated: 59 minutes ago

Thornbury Town Hall is now decorated with a beautiful display of handmade poppies, created by talented members of the local community as a tribute to those who have served and lost their lives or suffered injury in the line of duty.

The poppies, lovingly knitted and crocheted by local residents, have been carefully sewn onto netting by volunteers before being installed on the columns of the Town Hall, creating a striking display for the town to enjoy during the period of remembrance.

Thornbury Town Council would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the display, whether by making poppies, helping to prepare them, or giving their time to bring the installation together. The project is a wonderful example of the creativity and community spirit that make Thornbury such a special place.

Poppies are still available to purchase at Thornbury Town Hall reception.

Residents can also support the Royal British Legion by making a donation. A collection tin is available at the Town Hall reception, or donations can be made online through the Royal British Legion’s website:

Every donation helps the Royal British Legion continue its work supporting the Armed Forces community.
