Thornbury High Street was buzzing with activity on Saturday 18 July 2026 as visitors enjoyed the Heritage Craft Fayre, a celebration of traditional crafts, local heritage and community spirit.
The event attracted visitors from across the area, with artisan stalls, heritage displays and traditional craft demonstrations creating a lively atmosphere throughout the town centre. One of the day's highlights was the special opening of Thornbury Town Hall, where more than 270 people took the opportunity to see the Thornbury Quilt on display in its permanent home.
Museum volunteers and Town Councillors welcomed visitors throughout the day, sharing the fascinating story behind the quilt and answering questions from residents and visitors alike. The special Saturday opening gave many people their first opportunity to view this unique piece of Thornbury's history.
If you missed the event, the Thornbury Quilt can be viewed every Wednesday during normal opening hours, when it is on display in the exhibition room in the Town Hall, where everyone is warmly invited to come along and discover this remarkable part of Thornbury's heritage.
