South Gloucestershire Council has advised that a temporary road closure will be in place on the A38 Gloucester Road between the B4061 junction and Grovesend Road to allow Active Travel CRSTS improvement works to be carried out safely.
Closure Details
📅 Dates: 25 September 2026 to 26 October 2026
⏰ Working hours: 8:00pm to 6:00am
The road will only be closed while works are taking place and when the appropriate traffic management signs are displayed.
Diversion Route
A signed diversion route will be in place via:
A38 (unaffected section) → B4427 → B4059 → B4058 → B4509 → A38 (unaffected section)
The same route will operate in reverse for traffic travelling in the opposite direction.

These works form part of South Gloucestershire Council's Active Travel improvement programme. Residents and road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and follow the signed diversion route during the works.
