Freshwater Lab at the Mundy Playing Fields - Tuesday 27 October 11.30am - 2pm
Join Thornbury Town Council and the Linking the Levels project to dive into the hidden world of our local freshwater creatures this half-term. Drop in to our outdoor lab at the Mundy Playing Fields between 11.30 and 2pm on Tuesday 27 October to meet the tiny animals living in nearby streams and ponds, discover how to care for watery wildlife, and get hands‑on with simple nature crafts.
Biodiversity Officer Sally Pattison will be on hand to share some of the wonders of the underwater world. We will chat to you about how we can all care for our vital, shared watery habitats, including ways you can get involved by becoming a Water Guardian or River Detective.
There will be some watery-themed activites available for you to take part in, as well as a chance to hear about the work of the Thornbury Town Council Climate and Nature Committee and to get an update on our plans for a new natural water play facility at the Mundy’s.
There is no need to book for this free of charge event. Just join us at the Thornbury Town Council gazebo in the park by the former splashpad. If the weather is off-putting, we will move into our brand-new machine store – the green building located to the left of the pavilion.
