B4061 Thornbury Road and Alveston Hill – Temporary Road Closure
South Gloucestershire Council has announced a temporary road closure on the B4061 Thornbury Road and Alveston Hill for leaf fall clearance works.
Closure details:
Date: From 15 December 2026
Duration: Anticipated to last 1 day
Time: Between 9:30am and 3:30pm
Location: From the junction with B4461 Down Road, northwards for approximately 1.1km
Diversion route:
Vehicles will be diverted via the unaffected section of the B4061, A38, Grovesend Road and Midland Way, before rejoining the B4061. The route will also apply in the opposite direction.
The closure will only be in place when required for the works and when traffic signs are displayed.
The works are being carried out by South Gloucestershire Council. Please allow extra time for your journey and follow the signed diversion route.
