A Christmas message from Helen Ball, Mayor of Thornbury
Season’s greetings to everyone and best wishes for the New Year! The Christmas lights are on, the Christmas tree is up, the reindeer are running very fast in the St Mary's Centre and our Father Christmas flag is up on the Town Hall. While our southwest location makes snow unlikely, we can always dream!
One of the town council's priorities is our young people in Thornbury, and so I am delighted that I have been able to visit all the schools in Thornbury and attend many marvellous events with our young people centre stage. Young people are the future of the town and we are working hard with our partners to support them as they grow and thrive.
It is a real delight to be invited to so many community organisations in Thornbury and talk to everyone- organisers, carers and volunteers. I always come away with an even greater appreciation of all that is best in Thornbury and our community.
Have you started to follow us on our new website, Facebook and Instagram pages? I have learnt about 'hits' on the webpage there was over 29,000 for one item. In addition I have also spoken on Thornbury radio which was a new experience!
