About Helen

Councillor representative for Citizens Advice Bureau and Town Centre Partnership

Becoming mayor for 2025-26 is a real honour and privilege. With all councillors and staff I look forward to ensuring we continue to deliver good services and make progress on delivering the plans we have been working on over the past couple of years.

I very much look forward to meeting community organisations throughout the year as part of this role. As a councillor, it is very important that we hear local people’s concerns and aspirations, so that we know that we are using the council’s resources to best effect to serve Thornbury as it changes and grows.

I have lived in Thornbury for over 20 years and very much enjoy the facilities and lifestyle offered locally. I have had a career in public service, and also have served on the management committees of a range of voluntary and community organisations, as well as chairing a primary school governors’ meeting.  I enjoy gardening, cycling, walking and visiting my far flung family.
