Chris Bloor is a retired schoolteacher, living in Thornbury High Street with a wife and a Labrador.

He is a Forest of Avon Trustee and a member of Sustainable Thornbury and volunteers at Filnore Woods.

He is a member of the Open Spaces Society, the Joint Local Access Forum and the Ramblers and volunteers as a walk leader with Walking Well. He has marked out a circular Community Forest Path in Thornbury.

Before his hip replacement, he was a runner and set up Town and Country Harriers to lead people out of the city and into the countryside. He also instituted the Green Man Challenge on the Community Forest Path, now an Ultra Marathon.
